Fixed: forced to download images as ‘jpeg 8BIM header’ in Chrome, Firefox, Opera due to SageThumbs

A possible solution if your browser — Chrome, Firefox, and Opera in my case — is forcing you to download images in “JPEG 8BIM HEADER” format.

For me, it turned out to be due to having installed SageThumbs to see previews of Photoshop PSD files in Windows Explorer.

Sorry if that’s not the case for you, but this is just here to have Google index it for others to see.

The end.

      Hi Marc,

Apologies for the delay, but these Comment emails were going straight to my spam folder.

I’m afraid that’s the only solution I know of, and since I don’t have the problem any more, I can’t test for other solutions.

      Good luck with it anyway…

      Asa
